Spartan Scroll IV
Dr. Ed Koester - Head Football Coach
Interesting how quickly time moves forward it was just days ago it seems that breakfast club started and expectations were voiced into effort and sacrifice. We enjoyed the first fruits of those months of workouts and practice Friday night. There may have been a little less flash a little less glitter or one or two less explosions than a year ago; still the same, the Spartans stood above the fray and scored more. What a rewarding evening to watch kids grow and improve while working for and with one another.
I'm sure you were impressed as you drove into the Spartan grounds and saw flags flying, a glistening field and a stadium worthy of the competitors who soon took to the field to defend our home. What a great place to play, what wonderful students and fans to rejoice with, and what a rewarding feeling it is to countdown the victory with such a splendid band.
The comings days will prove extremely important. The time between games one and two is where teams make their greatest improvements. We must improve, before us lies a tremendously tough road in region 5-AAAAA. Every player on our team must continue to work and prepare for the next opponent, the next opportunity; for we know not when the time will require the services of every player on the roster. Each player has a talent and a role to play; every talent and every role is just as important as the other. Let's keep our chin level, our eyes focused, and our efforts joined in a united front because it matters not who our individuals are, only how well our team performs for the unselfish efforts of all will bring success in the contests that lie ahead.
